Things to avoid with Google Adsense

by Titan

10 Great Things Not To Do With Google Adsense

There is no question that you can make some good money with Google AdSense, but you're setting yourself up for disaster if you make any of these Top 10 mistakes!

1. Do not use fake information when opening your Google AdSense
account.

Google says that's a no-no and they will cut your account off and keep all the money you may have earned. Besides, trying to hide your true identity can cause serious problems with the I.R.S. or whoever your tax authority is.

2. Do not hack or modify Google AdSense code other than to change the parameters that Google authorizes you to change.

Any attempt to bypass Google's built-in algorithms not only poses a danger to the integrity of the network, but it threatens the financial modle that Google operates under. You're not dealing with some Mom-and-Pop company here, and Google has the legal muscle and deep enough pockets to drag you through every court in the land if you damage their business with your hacking antics.

3. Keep AdSense ads off of your registration, confirmation, and all "thank you" pages.

Don't ask me why you can't put your ads there. It makes sense to me that those would be wonderful locations. Google thinks otherwise, however, and doing so is a hanging offense according to their Terms of Service.

4. Do not display AdSense ads and a competitor's ads (like Overture's) on the same page at the same time.

That just makes plain good sense. Google doesn't demand 100% SITE loyalty from you, but they do insist that their own ads not be cluttered up by offerings from their competitors.

5. Don't "beg for clicks" or provide any incentive for clicking on your Google AdSense ads.

This is a biggie and you see this rule violated all the time. Any of the "get paid to do stuff" sites that put Google ads in the member's control panels are walking the plank and they don't even realize it. Even those sites with the polite little
messages asking you to "help keep my site running by clicking on our sponsor's ads" are asking to be cut off if those happen to be Google ads.

6. Never click on the ads running on your own site, even if you are genuinely interested in the product or service and are thinking of buying it!

Nothing screams FRAUD louder than a webmaster running up his or her own click counts by happily clicking on ads fromtheir own site. The Google Gods can track this activity and it won't be long until you find yourself getting a goodbye note from their fraud team.

7. No misleading labeling

Google is very specific about what text can be placed around their ads. Their Terms of Service state: "Publishers may not label the ads with text other than sponsored links' or advertisements.' This includes any text directly above our ads
that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads." This is to keep visitors from becoming confused and barking up Google's tree when they clicked on an ad that led to a porn site instead of the recipe site they were expecting to visit.

8. Avoid keyword spamming and other divisive tricks

You may be tempted to buy one of those "generates thousands of key-word rich pages in seconds" programs that are so popular these days but I'll tell you this: Their days are numbered. Google is wise to such shenanigans and they will be hot on your
trail. Other prohibited gimmicks include:

"Sneaky" page redirects that send a visitor off to a different site then they were expecting to visit.
Multiple sites, domains, pages, etc. which have substantially duplicate content.
Hidden text or links of any type.
Excessive outbound links on any page. Google recommends no
more than 100. I'd keep it way below that.
And here is a nugget of wisdom straight from Google's mouth:
"Do not participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web as your website may be affected adversely by those links.

9. Don't advertise anything on Google's prohibited items list.

It's a lot shorter lists than PayPal's or eBay's, but it includes a lot of the same stuff like hacking/cracking content, porn, illegal drugs, gambling sites, beer or hard alcohol (I guess wine is OK), weapons, and the other usual stuff.

10. And the 10th dumbest thing NOT to do with Google AdSense is to let the other nine things stop you from running an honest site that's designed to make the most out of this very profitable opportunity that Google offers!

2 Surefire Ways To Maximize Your Adsense Earnings by PJ Germain

Most webmasters know that Adsense generates a sizeable source of additional advertising income. That is why most of them use it to go after high paying keywords. They have with them the lists that tells what the keywords are and have already used various methods of identifying them. And yet, after putting up these supposed-to-be high paying keywords into their pages, the money they expected to come rolling in is not really coming in.

What is it that they are doing wrong?

Having the pages is with the proper keywords is one thing. But driving visitors to those pages is another matter and often the factor that is lacking.

The thing is, to get visitors to your high paying keyword pages, you need to optimize your site navigation.

Stop for a moment and think about how visitors are using your website. After a visitor has landed on a certain page, they have the tendency to click on another page that sounds interesting. They get there because of the other links that appears on a page that they initially landed on. This is site navigation. It is all about enabling visitors to move about your site. And one way of maximizing your Adsense earnings.

A typical website have menu links on each page. The wording on these links is what grabs a visitor's attention and gets them to click on one of the links that will take them to another page of that website. Links that have "free' or "download" are oftentimes good attention-grabbers.

This navigation logic can also be applied to driving traffic to your high paying pages. There are some websites that are getting a lot of traffic from search engines, but have low earnings. The trick is to try and use come cleverly labeled links to get the visitors off that pages and navigate them to the higher earning ones. This is one great way of turning real cheap clicks to real dollars.

Before you begin testing if this same style will work for you and you website, you need to have two things. Something to track and compare and some high earning pages you want to funnel your site traffic to. An option is to select a few of your frequently visited pages. This is ensuring fast result to come by.

Now, the next thing to do is think of ways to get visitors viewing a particular page to try and click on the link that will take them to your high earning pages. Come up with a catchy description for that link. Come up with a catchy and unique description for the link. Think of something that people do not get to see everyday. That will trigger their curiosity enough to try and see what that was all about.

You can also use graphics to grab your readers' attention. There is no limitation to what you can do to make your link noticeable. If you are after the success of your site, you will do everything it takes just to achieve that goal. Just be creative. As far as many Adsense advertisers are concerned, there are no written and unwritten laws to follow regarding what they write. Just as long as you do not overstep the guidelines of the search engines, then go for it.

Also remember that it is all about location, location and location. Once the perfect attention grabbing description has been achieved, you have to identify the perfect spot on your page to position that descriptive link to your high paying page.

There is nothing wrong with visiting other websites to see how they are going about maximizing their site navigation. "Hot pages" or "Most read" lists are very common and overly used already. Get to know the ones that many websites are using and do not try to imitate them.

Another way of doing it is to try and use different texts on different pages. That way you will see the ones that work and what does not. Try to mix things around also. Put links on top and sometimes on the bottom too. This is how you go about testing which ones get more clicks and which ones are being ignored.

Let the testing begin. Testing and tracking until you find the site navigation style that works best for you site.

Four AdSense Tips : What Not to Do by Alan Lim

Knowing what to do is only half the AdSense story. You also need some important AdSense tips on what not to do if you value your account with Google.

Most of the information you'll find about AdSense tips will involve ideas about how to maximize your profit generation activities. However, knowing what you should do is only part of the picture. You also need to know what not to do. The tips below can help you prevent some of the biggest mistakes.

Do Not Click Ads

Whether by accident or not, one of the best AdSense tips that can be offered about what not to do is that you should never click on the ads on your own site. Obviously, this could be a great way to artificially inflate your own revenue. You could just spend hours clicking on the ads and you'd eventually rack up a pretty nice bank for yourself.

However, Google takes this serious and for good reasons. While you may think it's a great way to boost your own earnings, you are benefiting at the cost of other business owners who are sincere in their desire to drive real traffic to their sites. Because your earnings are a percentage of what these marketers are paying, your money comes at their expense. Plus, reports of this type of cheating can hurt the legitimacy of the program and that's something Google does not want.

Never Reward Visitors

Another example of some good AdSense tips is never to offer incentives to site visitors who will click on your links. That even means begging and pleading. For example, you don't want to suggest that the site will be closed down if people don't visit the sponsors. Google also disproves of this practice for the same reasons as above. If you've done a good job on attracting targeted traffic, you don't need to seem desperate in this way.

No Empty Pages

The temptation for lazy site owners might be to just throw up the AdSense code on an empty page and be done. While you won't have to worry about any AdSense tips about designing a great page this way, you will end up with limited traffic and no interest in your ads. Visitors need to stick around long enough to notice and be intrigued by the ads. With no other content on the site, visitors are likely to be angry about the waste of their time and will take off quickly.

Realize the Penalties

Knowing that the above is not a good idea either because Google disproves of the process or because visitors won't approve either may not be a major deterrent. However, the reality is that Google is serious about these issues and will suspend the accounts of anyone who violates the above and other policies.

As part of these AdSense tips, you should realize just how serious these violations are taken and what they can cost you in terms of future revenue through the program. There's no reason to put yourself at risk like that. Instead, do the extra work and have the patience to get the revenue you want legitimately.

How to increase your AdSense clicks

by Danielle Branch

The only way for a search engine to find you and deliver relevant ads is to deliver actual content. This means words that form clear and understandable sentences. I know this seems like it would be common sense, however it is tempting to write a paragraph that is filled with keywords. Such as my example below:

"Adsense optimization for keyword rich ads for Adsense ads. Double Adsense revenue for Adsense ads. Traffic building Adsense ads will double your Adsense ad revenue."

-Proper Optimization-

When writing anything on a page where you will have an Adsense ad, it is important to use proper optimization techniques. This means pulling out the Header tags and properly bolding and using italics. Why? The search engines love this, especially Google. Since Google will be the one delivering the ad to your site, you want to make your site as search engine friendly as possible.

-Location Location Location-

Where you place your Adsense ads is just as important as to how they look. Luckily, there are only a few ideas that you need to worry about to increase your click through rate. There are 3 places where it is best to put these ads:

1. The more "white space" around your ads the better
By leaving a frame of white space around your text you are making the ads blend into your site. This will make your visitors believe it is all part of your content.

2. The closer to the top of the page the better
Many readers will only quickly scan down your page; therefore it would only make sense to put your ad, whether it is a text link block or a banner up at the top of the page. This is where your visitor's eye will likely go.

3. The closer the left of the page the better
Once again, our eyes start at the left of the page, because in America, we read from left to right. If we can expect this natural flow, then we can strategically place these ads where our visitors will naturally see them.

-Keywords that pay-

The key to success with Adsense is to place your ads on pages that receive high traffic for high demand keywords. The higher the cost-per-click to the advertiser, the more you will receive per click from your site. It doesn't pay to target low cost-per-click keywords and place them on pages that don't receive hits. You can search for high paying keywords on sites like spyfu.com overture.com and the Google Adwords page.

There are tricks to placing Adsense ads on your website that will dramatically increase the odds of them being clicked. Knowing what they are and placing them into your advertising tactics will keep you a step ahead of the game we call marketing.

How To Become A Master Affiliate Marketer in No Time by Hoe Bing

One of the best ways to make an enormous amount of cash on the Internet is by selling your very own product. The reason it's the best way is because every one that you sell, you will get 100% of the profits.

If you were just an affiliate selling other peoples products then you would only get a commission which can be 50 or 75%. Now that's still a pretty good little deal... selling somebody else's products and you get a 50% commission. But if it was yours, you can have ALL the profits and DOUBLE your income.

Let me put it this way... if you sold one $100 product everyday... you get 50% commission as an affiliate... that's $1,500 a month and $18,000 a year. Not bad eh? But now think of how much you would receive if it was your product... $36,000!

Much better isn't it? That could make the difference between you slaving away at your job and then working Affiliate Marketing in your spare time or quitting the 9 to 5 grind and working full time in Internet Marketing and living your life on your own terms.

There's also other benefits to selling your own products. You can find other Affiliate Marketers to sell for you. I know that you are going back to only making 50% of the profits because you are giving 50% to your affiliates for each sale they make but it's worth it because you wont have do all of the work trying to send traffic to your site on your own.

You can focus on other parts of your business and let your affiliates send you the sales. Plus all you need is one really good marketer that knows what they're doing and you can make a lot of money.

But I must warn you! If you have done very little marketing in your life, I would suggest that you don't try to create your own product just yet. It's good to learn the ropes of Internet Marketing first before you jump into selling your own product.

You will need to learn how to find hungry niche markets that have a problem that you can bring solutions to. It's smart to find a market first before you create a product. You may come up with an idea for a product that you think is amazing and SHOULD sell like crazy but how do you know for sure? Doesn't it make sense to test the market first to see if they are a buying market before you put in the hard work of creating the product?

Once you find a potential market, you can build your website and test it by selling affiliate products. You would send traffic to your site and see if people buy. If they don't, then you can test by changing to another affiliate product to see if that does the trick.

If you start making sales, then you can go on to create an even BETTER product to help solve your markets problem. On the other hand, if no matter what you do you can't make many sales, then chances are that your market isn't a buyers market and it's probably time to move on.

Then you just do some research in other markets and repeat the process until you do find some buyers.

I know not making sales is disappointing and frustrating but don't you think it's better to find out as an affiliate instead of finding out after you have invested so much time, money and energy into creating your very own product?

Ok so I have pretty much told you that the best way to make money on the Internet is by eventually creating and selling your own product. But if you don't have much experience in Internet Marketing, you should start off as an affiliate and sell other peoples products.

If you have no idea where to begin, then you should check out this 7 video series called "Fast Cash For Newbies" that will walk you through all of the steps to get your Affiliate Marketing career off the ground. Then once you get your feet wet and find a profitable market, then create your very own product and rake in the CASH!
